Triumph Tree: Setting the Standard in Artificial Christmas Trees for Decades

When you think of high-quality artificial Christmas trees, chances are the name Triumph Tree sounds familiar. What started as an unexpected turn for a family business in Thailand has since grown to shine in living rooms, shops, and even airports around the world.

We all want to live a little more sustainably – but where do you start on the journey towards a more eco-friendly home? At Triumph Tree, we’ve been asking ourselves that same question for years. That’s why we’ve gathered some simple tips for your home that you can put into practice in no time. It’s a small step that feels great!

Triumph Tree Co., Ltd. was founded in 1989 in Thailand as a joint venture between the Srethbhakdi family and Taiwanese company Triumph Plastic Industries. It was a remarkable move, as the family had previously been active in the iron and steel industry. Shifting to artificial Christmas trees was a bold, yet highly successful, diversification.

Just a year later, in 1990, the Srethbhakdi family acquired full ownership of the company, making Triumph Tree entirely Thai-owned. From 1991 onwards, Sue Srethbhakdi and her Australian husband, Richard Mackellar, took the helm. They left their careers in IT and relocated to Thailand, where they have since run the factory with dedication and care.

From Thailand to the World

Today, Triumph Tree products are sold in over 35 countries across North, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Australia – and, of course, in Thailand itself.
A key factor in this global expansion has been the close partnership with Edelman B.V., which has existed since the company’s founding in 1989. Together, they have firmly established the Triumph Tree brand throughout Europe. Over the past twenty years, the volume of European orders has more than doubled.

Loyal Customers and Iconic Locations

What sets Triumph Tree apart is not only the quality and variety of its products, but also the long-standing relationships it has built with customers. Some retailers have been ordering their Christmas collections from Triumph Tree for over 30 years.

A wonderful example is the Icelandic Scout Association, which sells Christmas trees each year from their Scout Hall to raise funds for their activities – a truly meaningful cause.

In the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Germany, Triumph Tree products are a familiar presence, from large garden centres to boutique shops. The company also supplies department stores, DIY chains, Christmas specialists, online retailers, and businesses looking for seasonal décor.

Triumph Tree trees can even be found in iconic locations like Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Schiphol Airport, and Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi – with models reaching up to 12 metres tall!

A Collection with Character

What makes Triumph Tree truly unique is its blend of timeless classics and ongoing innovation. Models such as the Norway, Scandia, Matterhorn, Forest Frosted, Bristlecone, Sherwood, and Abies Nordmann have been bestsellers for decades.

New additions like the Wyoming are instantly popular with customers, showing that the brand continues to evolve. In 2008, this was recognised externally when Dutch consumer organisation Consumentenbond named the Forest Frosted the best artificial Christmas tree – with the Scandia proudly taking second place.

More Than Just a Tree

Triumph Tree is more than a Christmas tree supplier. It is a brand with a rich history, strong family roots, international reach, and a clear passion for craftsmanship. Whether it’s a small 30 cm tree for a desk or a majestic 12-metre tree for a shopping centre, Triumph Tree brings festive magic – year after year.
